Governor Evers recently signed a $10.1 million contract to improve pavement conditions on WIS 35 between DeSoto and Genoa in Crawford and Vernon County. The project will replace deteriorating pavement and resurface 11. 8 miles of the highway. The project will also replace 21 pipe culverts, one box culvert, and rehabilitate two bridge structures.
Construction is scheduled to begin March 28 and be completed in August.
WIS 35 will be closed to through traffic and detoured between WIS 82 in DeSoto and WIS 56 in Genoa. Through traffic will be detoured using WIS 82, WIS 27 and WIS 56. The highway will remain open to local traffic only.
Mathy Construction of Onalaska is the prime contractor on the project.
