McGregor Man Charged With Assaulting Protester

A McGregor man was Arrested for Assault. Last Friday the Mar-Mac Police Department responded to a fight in progress at Triangle Park, in McGregor.

A group of individuals were lawfully demonstrating the recent Supreme Court case reversing Roe v. Wade in Triangle Park.

Ronald L. Paradine, from McGregor, was walking along Main Street, opposite from the demonstrators, when he began voicing is opinions against the demonstrators’ position. Paradine walked across the street, approached one of the demonstrators, and began striking an individual multiples times.

Paradine was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail. He faces charges of Assault (simple misdemeanor). The police department was assisted by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, the Clayton County Conservation, and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
