The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office has released information on a couple of accidents that happened earlier this month. On October First a vehicle driven by 84 year old Inge Baumgartner of Elkader turned onto Highway 13 and collided with a vehicle driven by 59 year old Robert Peters of Monona. Baumgartner was taken to Mercy One Hospital in Elkader for treatment of injuries and was charged with failure to yield upon entering a highway.
The Department also released the name of the driver who rolled his semi on Highway 18 and 52 on October Seventh. 39 year old Korey Keene of Boscobel was traveling too fast when turning south on Highway 52 and the semi overturned. He was taken to Crossing Rivers Hospital with minor injuries. Keene was charged with unsafe turn and failure to maintain control.
