One person has been arrested as the result of an investigation of a fire in Waukon in February of last year. According to Waukon Police, 43-year-old Mindy Jo Jones was arrested on Friday and charged with 1st-degree Arson, which is a class B felony. Jones is also charged with animal abuse for the death of a canine as a result of the fire. The Iowa State Fire Marshall determined that Jones was responsible for the fire at “Tin, Rust, & Harmony” located at 9 Allamakee Street in Waukon. Jones was released on $25,000 bond. The fire happened on February 13th, 2022, with Fire Departments from Waukon, Decorah, Lansing, and Waterville called to battle the blaze.
