Once again, Rivers & Bluffs Animal Shelter is offering a way to rid your closets of unwanted shoes and raise funds for the animal shelter. Starting March 10th, all types of shoes (boots, athletic, flip flops, sandals, dress) will be collected. Shoes can be new or used and must be clean and in good condition.
A Florida Company pays Rivers & Bluffs for the shoes by the pound and resells to communities in need of proper footwear at an inexpensive price.
Collection boxes are available at the shelter, Southwest Vet, Tender Care Animal Hospital, Nelson Ace Hardware, Tractor Supply, Pocket City Pub in McGregor and No Bull Party Place in Seneca. In addition, they will have collection boxes at our upcoming fundraisers: April 1 – Princess for an Evening, and May 12th & 13th – Nelson Ace Hardware Food Stand and May 25th – – Rooster Andy’s Chicken Q at Peoples Bank on Blackhawk Avenue.
Rivers & Bluffs Animal Shelter also collects aluminum cans. An aluminum “can cage” is located at the edge of the animal shelter parking lot. Cans can be dropped off at any time. We can only accept aluminum beverage cans. Please do not include pet food or any type of aluminum or food cans.
Shoes will be collected through the end of May.
