On May 21, 2025, at approximately 8:15pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two vehicle crash with 3 parties injured at the
intersection of Hwy 18 and Hwy 35 in the Town of Patch Grove.
Upon arrival it was determined Dennis Nagel 46, of Prairie Du Chien, WI, had been northbound on Hwy 35, in his 2006 Chrysler Sebring,
when he stopped at the intersection of Hwy 35 and Hwy 18. Nagel then pulled out from the stop sign to turn left onto Hwy 18. At that time, a 29
year old from Fennimore, WI, was traveling Eastbound on Hwy 18 in her 2015 Buick Encore. Nagel didn’t see the eastbound vehicle, and
when he pulled into the intersection, it caused a collision.
The 29 year old, her minor passenger, and Dennis Nagel all recieved minor injuries from the crash and were transported to Crossing Rivers
Health, in Prairie Du Chien. During the investigation, Nagel showed signs of impairment and was ultimately arrested for OWI 2nd offense
causing injury. Nagel also recieved citations for Operating after Revocation, Open Intoxicants – Driver, and Failure to Yield right of way from
stop sign.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged and removed by Milo’s Towing of Prairie Du Chien. Wisconsin State Patrol, West Grant EMS,
Bloomington First Responders, and Bloomington Fire Department assisted at the crash scene.
