Town of Eastman – Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that on Friday, September 19th, 2025, at approximately 2:55 p.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a man had fallen out of a tree-stand. Law enforcement, medical, and fire personnel responded to the scene of 61642 Ducharme Ridge Road.
First responder’s personnel located, Mark Prestrud (67) of Rosemount, Minnesota, in a wooded area in the presence of a family member. He was lying on the ground beneath a portable tree-stand. He had fallen an estimated 20 to 25 feet. He was severely injured, and he required immediate medical attention.
Due to the severity of his injuries, a landing zone was established in a nearby field for Gundersen Air. First responder’s personnel carried him out of the woods, and he was airlifted from the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by members of the Eastman Fire Department, Eastman First Responders, Wauzeka Fire Department, Wauzeka First Responders, Gundersen Ambulance, and Gundersen Air.
