On Sunday, July 10, 2022 at approximately 3:50 P.M., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a two-vehicle traffic crash on S. Business St and W Guard St in the Village Of Wauzeka. The crash was initially called in as a hit and run with a report of the vehicle fleeing the scene on STH 60 westbound. It was later found that a third vehicle was not involved and the crash was not a hit and run.
Jessica L. Champlain, age 26, of Wauzeka, WI was operating a 2016 Kia Rio from an alleyway onto S Business St. While attempting a left turn onto S Business St. Champlain struck the rear corner of a parked 2019 Dodge Ram truck. The truck was not occupied and was legally parked.
Both vehicles had minor damage and no injuries occurred as a result of the crash. Champlain was issued citations for Operate a Motor Vehicle without Insurance and Operate a Motor Vehicle without a Valid Drivers License.
