Traffic Stop Results in Meth Arrest

A traffic stop has resulted in several charges in Crawford County.  On Wednesday, a Crawford County Sheriff’s Office deputy initiated a traffic stop in Gays Mills. The driver of the vehicle, 24 year old Chouader Yang of La Crosse, was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Yang had two passengers with him, 23 year old Taylor Stolpa of La Crosse, and a one-year-old child.

Yang was on active bond through La Crosse County for methamphetamine related charges. Stolpa was on active probation for drug related charges. During the stop Yang admitted  to possessing methamphetamine.  During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a clear plastic baggie containing a large amount of a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

Also, numerous items were located within the vehicle that are indicative of the sales and distribution of illegal narcotics such as a digital scale and empty baggies.

Yang was placed under arrest and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony bail-jumping, and child neglect.
