On 1/18/23 at 8:29 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a 911 call reporting a domestic assault in progress at a residence on P Ave rural Hawkeye. Fayette County Deputy’s responded to the residence and located a 70 yr old male with severe lacerations to the head. An investigation determined that a verbal argument had taken place at the residence when Kim Renee Cannon age 58 from Hawkeye assaulted her husband with a sword, striking him several times to the head. Cannon was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail where she was charged with Attempted Murder, She is being held in the Fayette County Jail pending an appearance with a Magistrate. The victim was transported to Gunderson in Lacrosse for life threating injuries. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by The Iowa State patrol and Gunderson Ambulance.
