35 Still Closed Nearly a Week After Derailment

Crawford County Emergency Management says State Highway 35 south of the Village of Desoto, remains closed until the Wisconsin Department of Transportation can approve roadway inspections for safe usage. Motorists should continue to use the detour routes until further notice. Crawford County Emergency Management says that it is currently out of the control of the Crawford County Highway Department to reopen the roadway, and is the responsibility of the Wisconsin DOT as BNSF crews have completed their clean-up process from the train derailment that happened last Thursday. Any inquiries at this time should be directed to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
