Officials from the Prairie du Chien School District and the City of Prairie du Chien recently met to discuss the possibility of working together on some economic development projects – including the possibility of a multi-use facility for performing arts, athletics, and conventions.
School Superintendant Drew Johnson says that if the school and the city can work together, they are only limited by their imaginations – and from there can work on the logistics.
This project – again, still only in the “conversation phase” has some similarities to what was attempted in the past referendum.
Johnson says that with interest rates at historic lows, the schools debt structure and current payment schedule, the project should be doable and still project a debt levy decrease.
