The Prairie du Chien Common Council met Tuesday night. The council voted 5 to 2 to start the process to close the Fisher Street Railroad Crossing on St. Feriole Island. The next step is to set a date for a public hearing on the matter which should be sometime in late September or early October.
The council approved the Design and Preservation Guidelines for the Blackhawk Avenue Business Design and Preservation District, which will give the Design and Preservation Commission a set of guidelines to go by when helping downtown businesses make any changes.
The council also approved a one-year lease with Nick Gilitzer for a corn maze in TID 9 of the north gateway business park. And they approved a request from Alliant Energy for an easement on Burnette Street to bury some underground power lines.
Join Mike Johnson on tomorrow / this morning’s edition of the Community Spotlight and People Places and Things as his guest will be City Manager Chad Abram who will have a complete recap of Tuesday night’s meeting.
