Methamphetamine Investigation Leads to Arrest and Drug Seizure in Prairie du Chien
Over the past several weeks, the Prairie du Chien Police Department has been actively investigating an individual suspected of acquiring and distributing significant quantities of methamphetamine within the City of Prairie du Chien.
As part of this ongoing investigation, on September 4, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Prairie du Chien Police Department executed a residential search warrant in the 100 block of North Illinois Street. During the search, officers seized more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, along with various items commonly used in the distribution and ingestion of illegal drugs, including digital scales and other drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the search and investigation, Timothy R. Kirschbaum, 48, of Prairie du Chien, was taken into custody and booked into the Crawford County Jail on the following charges:
- Delivery of Methamphetamine (<3 grams)
- Two Counts of Delivery of Methamphetamine (3–10 grams)
- Two Counts of Delivery of Methamphetamine (10–50 grams)
- Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (>50 grams)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Subsequent to the arrest, an additional quantity of methamphetamine was located, bringing the total seized to approximately 100 grams.
Kirschbaum remains in custody at the Crawford County Jail. The Prairie du Chien Police Department continues to actively investigate methamphetamine trafficking in the region.
Additional arrests and charges may be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.
