Traffic Stop in Soldiers Grove Leads to Arrest of LaCrosse Man on Drug Charges

Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin – Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that on Friday, September 26th, 2025, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit (Diego) initiated a traffic stop in the Village of Soldiers Grove. The K9 Handler observed drug paraphernalia, and a search of the vehicle was conducted. A plastic baggie containing several grams of cocaine and a loaded handgun were located in the vehicle. The driver, Joshua Emmer (37) of La Crosse, Wisconsin, was placed under arrest and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Also, Emmer is being referred on charges of felon in possession of a firearm. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office. All individual(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
