1. Carson Kinyon (Riverdale High School) Carson helped the Chieftans get their first win of the season on Friday night with a victory over Boscobel. Carson went 7-14 passing for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 11 times for 54 yards. On defense he had 6 tackles and 2 interceptions to help the Chieftans win 34-6.
2. Lizzie Royer (Central Elkader High School) Lizzie helped the Warriors push their win streak to 5 games in a row last week with sweeps of Kee high and Postville. Against Postville Lizzie had 12 assists, 6 kills, 3 digs and an ace to help the Warriors win that match 25-8, 25-14, 25-10. Against Kee Lizzie had 15 assists, 12 kills, 8 digs, and 2 aces. The Warriors won that match 25-11, 25-18, 25-12.
3. Wyatt Powell (MFL MarMac High School) Wyatt helped get the Bulldogs back in the win column on Friday night with a victory over Dike-New Hartford. On offense Wyatt had 10 carries for 60 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. On defense Wyatt had 1.5 tackles but scored another touchdown on an 80 yard fumble recovery for a scoop ‘n’ score. The Bulldogs beat Dike-New Hartford 34-14.
