McGregor Building to Get Tax Credits

More than a dozen historic buildings in Iowa will share 19 million dollars in tax credits. The Iowa Economic Development Authority says the Historic Preservation Tax credits program aims to help maintain the character of the original structures.

Among the buildings getting a tax credit is the Masonic Block building in McGregor.  The building was constructed in 1866 and has been vacant for decades. Owners plan to transform it into retail space with upper-story apartments.
