An Elkader man has been arrested after a domestic assault last week. Clayton County Sheriff Mike Tshirgi says Deputies responded to an incident in Elkader on September 5th. The investigation revealed that 46 year old Joel Thiese of Elkader assaulted a 38 year old female and fired one round from a handgun into the ground during the altercation. Thiese was arrested for domestic assault while displaying or using a firearm. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Elkader Police Department.
