January 30th through February 4th is “Transit Equity Week”, and Scenic Mississippi Regional Transit is celebrating by allowing residents of Southwest Wisconsin to ride the SMRT Bus for FREE on Wednesday, February 1st. SMRT provides reliable and affordable public transport that connects rural communities across southwest Wisconsin. SMRT’s four routes link 14 communities, including Prairie du Chien, Viroqua, Tomah, Sparta, West Salem, and La Crosse. The focus of SMRT is for commuters, elderly and disabled residents, the general public, and potential tourism-related travel.
