Traffic Stop In Prairie du Chien Reveals Meth; Marijuana in Vehicle

A La Crosse man was arrested early Saturday morning during a traffic stop by a Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputy in Prairie du Chien. 47 year old Sam Lestina was stopped by the Deputy for an equipment violation and speeding on Highway 35 near East Frederick Street.

A search of Lestina’s vehicle turned up methamphetamine, methamphetamine paraphernalia, marijuana, and marijuana paraphernalia.

Lestina was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor bail jumping, and felony bail jumping. Lestina was also cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no automobile insurance.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Prairie du Chien Police Department.
