The Prairie du Chien Common Council met Tuesday, March 7th and approved the bid from Top Notch for the addition to the Welcome Center. The Prairie du Chien Chamber of Commerce accepted the bid of 302 thousand dollars plus the alternate of 9,100 dollars for a total of 311,000 dollars. The Chamber is responsible for the cost of the addition to the building, which is owned by the city. The Council also approved the truck route for the grain terminal and harbor on St. Feriole Island during the upcoming Villa Louis Road construction project. Trucks will use Harbor Access Road and loop back to the road they used to get there which will allow them to stay clear of Villa Louis Road.
