Rep. Tranel Meets with Energizer Officials about Closing

State Representative Travis Tranel of Cuba City released a statement regarding meeting with Energizer officials to discuss the Fennimore plant and plans to close in the fall of 2024. Tranel said that he conveyed to them his disappointment in their decision to close the Fennimore plant. He said he was assured by the officials that labor and labor costs had nothing to do with their decision and that it was based primarily on the cost of transporting goods. Tranel said he talked with the company to make sure that the good employees that work there are able to find sustainable employment in the future. Energizer announced plant closings in Fennimore and Portage back in January.
