Three Arrested After Fayette County Traffic Stop

An early morning traffic stop in Fayette County last Thursday morning led authorities to an Arlington residence and three arrests. The traffic incident happened near the intersection of 90th Street and Highway 187 near Arlington. 40 year old James Cornwell of Arlington, was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended and No Proof of Financial Liability and was transported to Fayette County Jail. A search warrant executed on the vehicle turned up crystallized substances, marijuana, paraphernalia, and US Currency.

On Sunday The sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol executed another search warrant at a residence in Arlington in relation to the first investigation.  During a search of the residence, crystallized substances, wax, paraphernalia, ammunition, and US Currency were found and seized.  James Cornwell of Arlington was once again arrested and charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Offense and gathering where Controlled Substances are being Used (methamphetamine).  Cornwell was also charged with Child Endangerment, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  58 year old Rodney Dean Cornwell also of Arlington was arrested and Charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance methamphetamine 3rd Offense, Gathering where Controlled Substances are being Used (methamphetamine), Child Endangerment, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 36 year old Linda Cornwell of Arlington was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana 1st Offense, and Child Endangerment.  All individuals were taken into custody and transported to Fayette County Jail where they are currently being held until initial appearance.
