HOURS Compost Site: Monday-Saturday 8 A.M. to 7 P.M. Closed Sundays and Holidays
Brush Site: 1st Wednesday and 3rd Saturday of the month 8 A.M. to Noon
SEASON April 3rd through November 30th (Brush site closed November 18th)
LOCATION ½ mile East of Marquette Road on Vineyard Road
PROOF Proof of residency is required. The site is for City of Prairie du Chien properties only.
COMPOST SITE RULES
Compost site is for City of Prairie du Chien residential and commercial properties only
Materials Accepted: Leaves, Grass Clippings, Garden Waste, Shrubs, Sod, Flowers, Corn Stalks
Materials NOT Accepted: Construction Material, Stumps, Logs, Branches, Landscape Timbers, Fill Material, Stone, Appliances, Tires, Garbage
Please empty and take all plastic bags with you
DO NOT DISPOSE BRUSH WITH THE COMPOST-VIOLATORS WILL BE TICKETED
A permit is needed to cut and remove wood in the free firewood pile. Permits can be picked up at City Hall or the Street Department for free
BRUSH SITE RULES
Only City of Prairie du Chien property owners may use the brush site-NO PROFESSIONAL TREE REMOVAL CONTRACTORS
Residents will be limited to 2 loads of brush per day at the site
Branches larger than 6 inches must have limbs removed and placed in a separate pile
Nothing other than brush and branches allowed-NO LUMBER, RAILROAD TIES, PALLETS, TIMBERS
ILLEGAL DUMPING IS SUBJECT UP TO A $500 FINE
