Milwaukee Woman Wanted for Child Abduction Arrested in Crawford County

On Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a sports utility vehicle on STH 60 near CTH E in the Township of Marietta. The owner of the vehicle was wanted by the Milwaukee Police Department for the abduction of a four-year-old and nine-year-old child by a non-custodial parent.
The owner / operator of the sports utility vehicle was identified as 37 year old Precious McArthur of Milwaukee. McArthur failed to stop her vehicle for deputies, and a tire deflation device had to be deployed. The deployment of the device rendered the vehicle inoperable, and the vehicle came to a stop at the intersection of Highway 60 and Gran Grae Road in the Township of Wauzeka.

McArthur was taken into custody and the two abducted children were taken into protective custody. McArthur was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of felony eluding, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant with children present, child neglect, resisting an officer, and bail jumping, and the Milwaukee Police Department will be filing additional charges.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Prairie du Chien Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Milo’s Towing Service, Wauzeka First Responders, Boscobel Rescue Squad, Crossing River Health, and Crawford County Department of Health & Human Services.
