Eastman Man Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Crash

On Saturday, April 8th, 2023, at approximately 6:06 p.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on STH 35 south of Rush Creek Rd. in the Township of Freeman.

Jackson Finney, age 45, of Eastman, Wisconsin, was operating a 2011 motorcycle southbound on STH 35. Finney lost control of his motorcycle, crossed the centerline, crossed the northbound lane, and traveled off the highway. Upon leaving the highway, Finney struck a driveway causing him and his motorcycle to go airborne for approximately 100 feet. Finney and his motorcycle landed in the ditch alongside the highway. Finney was ejected from his motorcycle and he and the motorcycle traveled approximately another 100 feet before coming to rest. Finney came to rest particularly inside a driveway culvert.

Finney sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to the hospital and his motorcycle was totaled. Finney was cited for operating a motorcycle while under the influence of an intoxicant and operating a motorcycle with a suspended license. Speed is suspected to be a contributing factor.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Ferryville Fire Department, Ferryville First Responders, Ocooch Mountain Rescue, De Soto Fire Department, Gundersen Air, and Bob’s Towing Service.
