Listen: PDC Common Council Meeting Recap

The Prairie du Chien Common Council met Tuesday, April 18th and approved a resolution designating April 28th as Arbor Day in the city.  It’s a day that Prairie du Chien first graders usually plant a tree at St. Feriole Island, but because of flooding Parks and Rec. Director Mike Ulrich is working on finding a different location.  the Council also approved Jet Ski races June 23rd through the 25th.  And approved a timber harvest at La Riviere Park in the winter with proceeds from the sale of the timber going back to the La Riviere Park fund.

The river is currently at just under 18 feet and is expected to rise to 22.9 feet by next Wednesday. A Flood Watch for Mississippi at Lansing Lock 9 starting late Friday night.
