2 Vehicle Crash in Construction Zone with injuries
On Tuesday July, 18 2023 at 10:47 pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two vehicle crash with injuries in the construction
zone at STH 80 and St. Rose Road. Emma D. LaRue (18) of Benton was stopped on St. Rose Road waiting for a dump truck to unload material into a paver. The construction
crew motioned to LaRue to move her 2007 Jeep Liberty around the dump truck and continue east bound across STH 80. Unknown to that
work crew, the flagger holding the northbound traffic allowed a group of stopped vehicles to start traveling north. As LaRue’s vehicle entered
the roadway, a northbound 2017 Jeep Cherokee driven by Julie A. Mowbray (59) of Cuba City collided with LaRue. Both drivers were
evaluated by Southwest EMS. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene. The Sheriff’s office was assisted
by Southwest EMS, Humphreys Transport and Towing of Shullsburg, SOS Towing of Platteville and the Cuba City Fire Department.
