Grant County Accidents

On July 30, 2023 at 5:30 PM the Grant County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 61 and County Road B. Sophie Uppena, age 19 of Lancaster, was traveling east on Abing Road in a 2002 Chevrolet Impala and was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection. Bernice Ellis, 79, of Lancaster, was traveling north on U.S. Highway 61 in a 2012 Ford Taurus. As Ellis was traveling north through the intersection, Uppena began to travel east across U.S. Highway 61 and collided with Ellis’ vehicle. Uppena stated she looked, but did not see Ellis’ vehicle. Uppena was cited for failure to yield right of way from a stop sign. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Bennett’s Auto and Towing. No injuries were reported.

On July 30th at 8:36 PM, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center was notified of a motorcycle that had struck a deer. Tracy Wagner, age 64 of Boscobel, and his passenger Kathleen Wagner, 58, also of Boscobel were riding a 2018 red Harley Davidson westbound on Hwy 133 outside Muscoda and had been thrown from the motorcycle after striking a deer. Tracy Wagner had severe injuries and was taken by Med Flight to UW Madison Hospital and Kathleen Wagner was transported to Gunderson Boscobel by Muscoda EMS for treatment of her injuries. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Muscoda Police Department, Muscoda Fire, Muscoda EMS, and Med Flight. The motorcycle was removed from the scene by Wegner’s Towing.
