The Prairie du Chien Hoppers American Legion Baseball team got out to an early two-nothing start in the first two innings in their Championship matchup against Denmark, But Denmark would come back and tie it up in the bottom of the 2nd inning. They then added two more in the bottom of the 6th, and the Hoppers weren’t able to score in the 7th and ended up falling to Denmark 4-2. It was the second year in a row that The Hoppers finished runners up in the Class A State Legion tournament. The Hoppers end their season at 30 and 7.
The season isn’t over yet for a couple Hoppers players. Maddox Cejka and Caydon Lomas will be playing in the American Legion All-Start Game this Sunday at American Family Field after the Brewers vs Pirates game. Hoppers Coach Nate Cejka has also been chosen as one of the coaches. The game is scheduled to start at about 5:00pm.
