Clayton County Press Release

On the evening of September 30″, 2023, Francisca D. Garcia (44) of Postville IA was taken into custody from the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office for an outstanding Clayton County arrest warrant for failure to serve jail time. Garcia was transported to the Clayton County Jail.

On October 1″, 2023, at approximately 11:04 p.m., the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office took a report of an assault which had just occurred at an address on Bell Road near Volga. Deputies arrived and determined that an assault had occurred involving Teyton Duncan (18) of Marion Iowa. Duncan was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault with Strangulation, a Class D Felony. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Iowa State Patrol.

On the evening of October 1st, 2023, Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Luana IA for a suicidal subject. While on scene, Deputies observed drug items in the residence. A search warrant was applied for and granted. Deputies executed the search warrant at the residence that same evening. As a result of the search warrant, the following subjects were summoned to in court at a later date on the following charges:

Jack J. Pepperdine (50), Possession of drug paraphernalia

Shawna M. Smeathers (25), Possession of marijuana 1st offense and Possession of drug paraphernalia

On the evening of October 2nd, 2023, Jason E. Roszell (44) of Sumner IA was taken into custody from the Fayette County Sheriff‘s Office for an outstanding Clayton County arrest warrant for theft 3rd degree. Roszell was transported to the Clayton County Jail.

On October 6th, 2023 at 6:21 am, Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at the Casey’s parking lot in Monona. Deputies came into contact with Samantha Wilkinson (30) of Elkader. Upon further investigation, Wilkinson was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where she was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault w/Bodily Injury, Child Endangerment, Public Intoxication, and Interference with Official Acts. The Sheriff‘s Office was assisted by the Monona Police Department.

On the evening of October 8th, 2023, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office received a traffic complaint on HWY 52 of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. A Guttenberg Police Officer located the vehicle a short time later and made contact with the male driver. The male was showing signs of impairment and had a barred Iowa driver’s license. Deputies arrived on scene to assist and as a result of the investigation, Keven L. Glassmeyer (36 of Cedar Rapids Iowa was placed under arrest and charged with OWI 3’ d or subsequent offense and driving while barred. Glassmeyer was transported to the Clayton County Jail.
