On October 14, 2023 the Waukon Police Department was contacted to check on an intoxicated subject. The subject was located on Rossville Road in Waukon a short time later. During the contact, the suspect became aggressive towards the officer and attempted to assault the officer multiple times. The suspect was arrested after a short scuffle. The officer did sustain minor injuries.
23-year old Chase Tysland of West Union was charged with public intoxication (simple misdemeanor), assault on persons in certain occupations causing bodily injury (aggravated misdemeanor), and interference with official acts causing bodily injury (serious misdemeanor).
The Waukon Police Department was assisted by the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office and VMH ER.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
