On December 15, 2023 at 12:03 am, the Allamakee County Sheriff’s E-911 Dispatch Center received a report of a UTV accident at the intersection of
Houlihan Drive and Mohawk Road in rural Allamakee County. A UTV was traveling eastbound on Houlihan Drive and failed to negotiate a righthand curve in the road. The UTV entered the ditch and rolled over. The driver of the UTV was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was transported by Gunderson Air Ambulance to a La Crosse, Wisconsin hospital for medical treatment. The names of the driver and passenger involved in the accident are being withheld pending notification of family members. Assisting at the scene was the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, Harpers Ferry Fire and Rescue and Waterville Ambulance and Veterans Memorial Hospital Ambulance. The accident remains under investigation by the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office.
