December Incidents in Clayton County

On October 29th, 2023, at 2:34 am Clayton County Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 52 and Miners Creek Road for a one vehicle rollover accident. Deputies came into contact with Christopher Ward (43) of Guttenberg who showed signs of impairment. Ward was transported by ambulance for his injuries. An arrest warrant for Ward was requested at a later date. On December 7th, 2023, Ward was located and placed under arrest for OWI 1st  offense. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Guttenberg Police Department.

On December 15th, 2023, a Clayton County Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 18 near Marquette, IA on a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle would not stop, and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle continued west bound on Pleasant Ridge Road towards Monona. A Monona Police Officer then joined the chase as the vehicle continued towards Postville, still traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle crashed in the city limits of Postville. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot, but officers were able to apprehend the suspect. The male driver was identified as Christian Rivera Serrano (26) of Postville. No one was injured during the incident. Christian was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While License Suspended, Interference with Official Acts, Eluding, and Child Neglect. The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Monona Police Department, the Postville Police Department, the Guttenberg Police Department, the Mar Mac Police Department, the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa State Patrol.

On 12/21/2023 at approximately 7:37 pm Clayton County Deputies and the Guttenberg Police were dispatched to a residence on Abel Island near Guttenberg, IA for an altercation that had taken place. After further investigation it was determined Meggan Healy (44) of Guttenberg had committed an assault. Meggan Healy was placed under arrest for Domestic Abuse Assault 1st offense and Obstruction of Emergency Communications. The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Guttenberg Police Department.
