Excessive Speed leads to OWI Arrest in Grant County

On March 15, 2024 at approximately 3:38pm a Grant County Deputy came across a motorcycle traveling westbound at 105 MPH on Hwy 81
near Bluff Rd located in the Township of Ellenboro.

Other Grant County Deputies and Lancaster PD were able to set up and get the motorcycle stopped on Hwy 61 near Hwy 129.

After a brief investigation, the operator, Michael Miller, age 47 from Leaf River, IL, was discovered to be impaired and arrested for OWI, first
offense. Miller told deputies he was traveling from Leaf River, IL to a town in MN. After the arrest Miller was transported to the Grant County
Jail. Miller was also cited for traveling 45+ MPH in a 55 MPH zone.

**Persons arrested/or referred for charges by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. An
arrest only indicates probable cause exists to bring formal charges.** The names of victims and witnesses to a crime have been withheld per
Wisconsin Statute §950.04.
