On Tuesday April 23, 2024 at approximately 2:26 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a one vehicle rollover on CTH B East of West Road. Wilbert E. Post, age 93 of Potosi, was traveling east on CTH B when his 2000 Ford Ranger left the roadway and traveled onto the right shoulder. Post over corrected, crossed the pavement and into the left ditch where the vehicle rolled multiple times. Post was trapped inside the car. Post was extricated by the Potosi Jaws unit. The Potosi Rescue Squad transported Post to the Lancaster airport were they met Med Flight and was transported to UW Madison. The Sheriff’s Office was later notified Post did not survive the crash. Assisting at the scene was the Potosi Rescue Squad, Potosi Fire Department, Potosi Jaws Unit, Med Flight, Grant County Emergency Management and Arrow Towing.
