ATV Crash in Crawford County Leads to Charges of Operating Under the Influence

On Saturday, May 18th, 2024, at approximately 5:29 p.m., Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash on Bouska Rd. near US Hwy 18 in the Township of Bridgeport.

An investigation determined that Daniel Jones (40) of Prairie du Chien was operating an ATV on Bouska Rd. and traveled into a gravel driveway to turn-around. As he was turning around, he rapidly accelerated, lost control, and overturned. Jones and his passenger, Mary Miller (30) of Prairie du Chien, sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital. The ATV received moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

Jones exhibited signs of impairment and was charged with operating an all-terrain vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant causing injury. This case remains under investigation and additional charge(s) are pending.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Bridgeport First Responders, Bridgeport Fire Department, Prairie du Chien Police Department, Gundersen Ambulance, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and Milo’s Towing Service.
