A suspicious package caused a road to be closed for several hours in Grant County Sunday afternoon. The package was located on County Road J near the intersection of County Road A near Mount Hope. Once the suspicious device was observed by law enforcement, it appeared to be of concern and the roadway was blocked off to safeguard motorists. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and determined the device to be a homemade lithium ion battery. The roadway was opened back up just after 10:00 pm
