Baldwin Announces Funding for Safety Center in Prairie du Chien

U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin visited with Prairie du Chien Public Safety Officials and City Council members on Monday, and toured the current Prairie du Chien Police and Fire Stations, along with the future site of the new public safety center in the 700 block of East Taylor street. Baldwin also announced that she has secured that she has secured nearly $5 million in federal funding for the construction of the new facility that will house the Prairie du Chien Police Department, Fire Department, and local EMS.

Baldwin said that the new Public Safety Center will provide the City with much needed space and resources to support its critical work to keep the community safe. Along with serving Prairie du Chien, the police and fire departments also serves surrounding communities in Crawford County and Clayton County, Iowa.
