On Thursday, August 31st, 2023, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit conducted a traffic stop on State Highway 35 in the Township of Freeman. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Chelsea Howell (41) of Boscobel, Wisconsin.
During the stop, K9 Diego was utilized and alerted to the presence of one or more controlled substances in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and several plastic bags containing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were discovered.
Howell was placed under arrest and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
