Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest in Crawford County

On Monday, December 4th, 2023, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a pickup truck on State Highway 35 in the Township of Freeman. The operator of the truck was identified as Jamie Iverson (44) of Desoto, Wisconsin.

Iverson displayed indicators of drug impairment and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit (Diego) was utilized and alerted to the presence of one or more controlled substances in the truck. Iverson refused to exit the truck, and she became combative. As law enforcement personnel attempted to detain her, she kicked the K9 Handler in the groin. Iverson’s resistive behavior continued until she was secured in the back of the squad vehicle. 

Iverson’s truck was searched, and the following was discovered, a plastic baggie containing a mixture of methamphetamine and fentanyl, methamphetamine paraphernalia, marijuana, and marijuana paraphernalia. Iverson was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, battery to a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and failure to comply with officer(s) attempt to take a person into custody.
