Vehicle Strikes Snow Pile and Leaves the Scene

On January 17th at approximately 9:32am, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a one-vehicle crash on Highway 18 near the intersection with
County Highway P in Patch Grove Township. It was found that a County Highway Department Plow Truck was clearing snow from the median
in this area. The plow truck had pushed snow into a pile on the west end of the median, part of the pile was in the eastbound (fast lane) of
Highway 18. The Plow Truck was waiting for traffic to clear to then move the snow onto the shoulder of the road. An eastbound vehicle then
struck the pile of snow and continued on Highway 18 without stopping. The vehicle involved is likely a Kia sedan, silver in color. The vehicle would have moderate front end damage. Anyone with information about this crash, please contact the Grant County Sheriff’s Office at 608-723-2157.
