Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest on Drug Charges in Gays Mills

On Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, at approximately 10:18 p.m., a deputy with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a sedan in the Village of Gays Mills. The operator of the vehicle was Stacy Conner (37) of Gays Mills, and her passenger was Edward Lemay (38) of De Soto.

During the traffic stop, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Diego was utilized and alerted to the presence of one or more controlled substances within the vehicle. A search was conducted, and the following was discovered, numerous items of drug paraphernalia and hypodermic needles containing suspected Heroin / Fentanyl.

Conner and Lemay were taken into custody and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession of a narcotic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, and bail-jumping.
