Search Warrant Leads to Arrests on Drug Charges

On Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, Crawford County Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that a narcotics / theft related search warrant was served at 64041 County Road N, Room #1, in the Township of Prairie du Chien. In the room, law enforcement personnel initiated contact with Amanda Bakalars (38) of Prairie du Chien, and Joshua Czap (48) of Prairie du Chien. Bakalars and Czap were under the influence of controlled substances. A search of the room was conducted, and numerous items of evidentiary value were discovered, including methamphetamine, methamphetamine paraphernalia, and marijuana.

After searching the room, law enforcement personnel responded to Czap’s residence of 1200 South 1st Street in the City of Prairie du Chien and executed a search of his residence under Wisconsin ACT 79 as Czap’s on probation. A search of his residence was conducted, and items of evidentiary value were discovered, including methamphetamine, methamphetamine paraphernalia, and THC concentrate.

Bakalars and Czap were arrested for violating the conditions of their probation. Bakalars was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Czap was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
