“Triple Threat” to Play at “Band Together for Good” Event

Three natives of Waukon are joining forces to host “Band Together for Good”, a fundraiser to support mental health Saturday night, at Lakeside Ballroom in Guttenberg. Kyle Selberg, owner of Lakeside, Dr Mollie Marti of the nonprofit group Worldmaker, and Rachelle Howe from the organization Mental Health Today are raising funds to support youth mental health and resilience programming in Allamakee County.

The event will feature the popular Northeast Iowa band Triple Threat. The evening will feature music and dancing, food and drink specials, a raffle, and silent auction. Entry is open to all, and a goodwill donation can be made at the door.  Dr. Marti says they are excited to welcome the Triple Threat band not only for its great music, but also because it mirrors their own collaboration

Rachelle Howe, who founded Mental Health Today in Waukon after the death of her husband’s by suicide, says that a lot of good has already been accomplished by working with Worldmaker, a nonprofit that provides education to help people prepare for, adapt to, and grow through adversity. She says they have hosted seven free community sessions and we have eight more scheduled between now and the end of the year.  The event will run from 7p.m. – 11p.m. Saturday evening.
