Two Separate Felony Arrests in Winneshiek County

On 12/30/2023 at 09:44 pm, the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office responded to a driving complaint of a vehicle that was driving erratically and had struck another vehicle at highway speeds on Highway 52 between Ossian and Calmar. The striking vehicle did not stop and continued. Deputies located the vehicle, on Highway 52, north of Calmar, and attempted to make a traffic stop. The vehicle fled from deputies which led to a pursuit. The vehicle eventually went westbound on Highway 9. With the assistance of the Howard County Sheriff’s Office and Cresco Police Department, stop sticks were deployed. The vehicle continued and was later located unoccupied, on fire, and disabled with tire damage on a gravel road north of Kendallville. A short time later a deputy located the registered owner, Kaden Brown, walking on the gravel road. Subsequently, Kaden Brown was arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail for D Felony Eluding, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. This incident remains under investigation with additional charges pending. The Howard County Sheriff’s Office, Cresco Police Department, and Harmony Fire Department assisted the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office.

On 12/30/2023 at 12:27 am the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance at a residence on 172nd Ave, Decorah Iowa around 12:27 am on December 30, 2023. Upon arrival, two deputies were assaulted by being punched and spit on. Subsequently, Jacqueline Stocks was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for D Felony Assault on a peace officer with the intent to inflict serious injury, Serious Misdemeanor Assault on a peace officer, Simple Misdemeanor Interference with Official Acts/Resisting Arrest, and Simple Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct.
