Crash in Wauzeka Leads to Multiple Charges

On Friday, May 10th, 2024, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle crash on West Guard Street in the Village of Wauzeka.

Law enforcement personnel responded to the scene, and determined that Lukas Pitzer, 37, of Wauzeka, had been operating a vehicle eastbound on Guard Street and struck the rear of a legally parked unoccupied sport utility vehicle. The vehicles sustained severe damage. Pitzer was injured and transported via ambulance to the hospital.

Pitzer exhibited signs of drug impairment and was cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance, operating after revocation, and failure to keep a vehicle under control.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Wauzeka First Responders, Boscobel EMS, and Bob’s Towing Service.
